Youngest son of Sinnapodiyar, who owned the Bagavathy department store in Veeramalai in Pungudutivu in northern Sri Lanka, the man joined the company at the age of 19 and in 1939 took control of Bagavathy department store, Pungudutivu.
Thambipillai early life and education
Muththar Sinnapodiyar was born in Pungudutivu in northern Sri Lanka, and married Paarvathipillai, and had two sons. the eldest son Nagalingam (born 1917) and the youngest Thambipillai (Bagavathy born 1920). Thambipillai was educated at Veeramalai local School.
Sornamma early life and education
Kanapathipillai was born in Pungudutivu in northern Sri Lanka, and married Paarvathipillai, and had four sons and two daughters. Vaithilingam, Parasakthi, Aiyathurai, Nadarajah, Sornamma (born 1929) and Thambirajah. Sornamma was educated at Vallan local School.
